Welcome to Wheal Busy's class page
Wheal Busy is the home of years 3 and 4. The teacher in Wheal Busy is Mrs Burton and the teaching assistants are Mrs Patel, Mrs Russell and Mrs Keveren.
We are lucky to have a beautiful, big classroom that is a hive of learning. Children in Wheal Busy learn to be enthusiastic learners with high expectations.

Autumn term 2024
This term Wheal Busy will be travelling back in time to prehistoric Cornwall.
We will visit prehistoric sites in Cornwall and learn all about life in the Stone Age, Iron Age and Bronze Age.
Spring term 2025
The learning in Wheal Busy this term is Rocks, Relics and Rumbles.
Children will learn about our incredible Earth; how it is formed, tectonic plates, earthquakes and volcanoes.
They will study rocks and learn how fossils are formed.
Autumn term 2023
This term we will be learning about the amazing achievements of the Roman Empire.
We’ll investigate how the Roman army were successful and about their invasion of Britain.
Then we will learn about the lives of significant individuals; both Celtic and Roman and about the incredible inventions that came from this era.
Spring term 2024
This term we will be going into an underwater world of incredible coral and mysterious sea creatures.
We'll investigate how plants and animals are adapted to life in the ocean and will learn about the weird and wonderful creatures that live deep under the surface.
We will also explore humans' relationships with the oceans, both positive and negative.
This term the year fours will also be immersed into local art with their Art Warriors sessions.
Summer term 2024
This term we will be sailing back to the Dark Ages, where battles were rife and fear reigned.
Wheal Busy will be learning about the lives of the Saxons, including how they lived and where they came from. Then we will meet the bloodthirsty Vikings from Scandinavia.
Children will learn about events surrounding the invasion of Britain by Anglo-Saxons and Vikings.
They will investigate how life changed in Britain during this time and what settlements were like.
This term the year 3s will also be delving into all things Cornish during their Cornish Warriors sessions.
